Cheers to beers as it’s Prostly’s, our beer & travel sister magazine, half birthday. For the past sixth months, our intrepid team has reported on beer around the world from remote islands to urban metropolises, covering corporate giants to creative upstarts. We’ve done deep dives on unique local styles of beer and we’ve given our best local recommendations so you too can experience the best of beer wherever your travels may take you.

This month’s issue is all about Europe and its increasing embrace of craft beer. We delve into the craft beer scene across several countries, some which have been beer superpowers for centuries and others who are establishing themselves as beer destinations through the microbrewery movement. And while we still hope that the traditional brews continue to garner the attention they deserve, it is an interesting time for the evolving beer environment across the continent.

We get started on the tropical paradise of Tenerife in the Canary Islands where Shay gets the lowdown on local microbrewery Tacoa and the owners’ passion to incorporate a truly unique local ingredient into their beers at any cost.

Next we visit the largest beer festival in the Baltics: The Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend. Prostly contributor Šarūnas makes the rounds at this popular beer fest, now in its third year, to sample a few of the 350 beers from 44 breweries represented throughout the weekend.

From there we head to the German capital for the first in a three part series from Aynsley on The Berlin Beer List. Her first instalment recounts an all-nighter introduction to the city’s beer scene and why it’s so important to track down local recommendations, what she calls ‘The List’, if you love beer as much as we do.

Finally, we head north to the Finnish capital of Helsinki where local beer enthusiast Antti takes us around to all the craft beer hotspots the city has to offer. We’re talking traditional pubs, up & coming microbreweries and big beer players all in the mix.

And that’s all for this month. Prostly is a monthly-based magazine and you can get notified of each issue by signing up for our newsletter. If you’re passionate about exploring the beer world around you, drop us a line. We’re always eager to connect with fellow beer enthusiasts. First round’s on us.

Prost!
