Over the last few weeks, we’ve been featuring some incredible time-lapse videos highlighting some of the most beautiful places on earth. This week, to follow up on Terra Sacra: 24 Countries in Time Lapse, and Yosemite Range of Lights, we’re excited to share a new time-lapse made in Departful’s hometown of Toronto, Canada.

While all of us are traveling this week, covering area’s including China, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Spain, we were happy to get a glimpse of home when this video, made by Tom Ryaboi, was picked up by Mashable yesterday.

“With City Rising I wanted to bring others up to this perspective, and from here, show them the city as they have never seen it before — where the boundary between earth and sky is unclear and the placid beauty of the city lays spread out below, quietly humming along. City Rising takes the viewer straight through rush hour traffic to the highest urban peaks and the clouds above it all, all in under four minutes,” states Ryaboi in the film’s description.
